Excelsior has been featured in two recent articles in Anglia Afloat magazine.

Excelsior supporters, including representatives from the Norfolk & Suffolk historic boating world, turned out in force on 6th December 2012 to hear news of the latest fundraising appeal recently launched.

Thanks to the efforts of stalwart volunteers during some very warm days we have been able to move ahead with preparing "Excelsior" for the refurbishment.

A new tack for Excelsior - funding and more helpers

The Excelsior Trust moves in a significant new direction in 2013 - including developments ashore. It has won initial funding, and is seeking more, to aid this, with the future of the ship at sea being paramount.

Excelsior, refurbished after a difficult year, will sail next year, maintaining and furthering maritime heritage, carrying ET supporters BUT also helping develop better lifestyles for the young through their personal development, including training at sea and ashore.

Particularly welcome are a number of new helpers including David Joll, successful businessman and sailor who has become a trustee after helping us for some time; also a distinguished educationalist Chris Hassell. Both their backgrounds are vital and will guide our new future in the training and charitable charter markets.

Excelsior Trust supporters are asking firms and individuals to sponsor “bunks aboard the ship” which helps vulnerable young people by training them gain lifestyle and bonding skills at sea.
